Citizens Role in innovating for Better Quality of Life for Urban Communities in Kenya.

The public dialogue titled “Citizens Role in innovating for Better Quality of Life for Urban Communities in Kenya” has been organised by the Civil Society Urban Development Platform (CSUDP), the University of Nairobi’s Center for Urban Research and Innovations (CURI), Kenya Alliance of Residents Association(KARA) and Uraia Trust in collaboration with UN-Habitat to provide an opportunity for  the public to engage ahead of the 1st Session of the UN-Habitat Assembly (UNHA) scheduled to take place from 27-31 May 2019 in Nairobi, Kenya, under the theme of the Assembly “Innovation for Better Quality of Life in Cities and Communities”.

 Speakers and Panelists:

  1. Mr. James Macharia EGH, The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works, Kenya.
  2. Anna Jardfelt, The Ambassador of Sweden to Kenya, Seychelles, Comoros and Permanent Representative to UN Environment and United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in 2017.
  3. Carlos Felipe Jaramillo, The World Bank country director for Eritrea, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda, based in Nairobi. Formerly Senior Director of the World Bank Group’s Macroeconomics, Trade and Investment Global servicesPractice (MTI).
  4. Aromar Revi, Director of the Indian Institute for Human Settlements (IIHS) – India’s first prospective National University for Research and Innovation to address challenges of urbanisation through an integrated programme of education, research, consulting and advisory.
