We've Re-branded!

The Civil Society Urban Development 'Programme' is now Civil Society Urban Development 'Platform'. But, we have not just changed our name.We believe that our new identity better represents our purpose and the breadth and depth of our work. The transition to a fully-fledged organization is a reflection of our journey and our growth.

But there is much more to do!

When the programme was set up in the year 2010 with a Vision for Vibrant, Dignified and Secure urban living Environments, it was in response to a recognized need for increased coordination of Civil Society actors in the urban sector as well as leveraging of best practices to inform urban policy and the design of pro-poor urban interventions.

Today Six (6) years on, the need to ensure that our cities and urban areas are Vibrant, Dignified and Secure is even greater. With devolution, county administrative headquarters are rapidly acquiring new urban status and attracting new residency with high expectations for better social and economic status.

We continue to build on our past experiences and results bringing our specialist expertise to government (both national and county) as well as other stakeholders as we pull together towards the realization of this vision.
